Hi,
I've just purchased a Sony SMP-N200 media streamer. It supports a iPhone / Android app that acts as a remote control to the device. If I have the streamer wired to my Plusnet (Thomson TG585) router via Ethernet, the app (running via wireless on my iPhone) cannot see the streamer.
If I unplug the streamer from the router and connect via Wifi, the app can see the streamer.
Does the TG585 router have some type of firewall between wired and wireless connections? I would of thought the firewall is only for Internet connections, not local connections.
Thanks

No, but you may want to find out what ports are used both by the streamer and for using your iPhone as a remote, then set up application rules for them in the router firmware, perhaps as a straight DMZ for each of them.
