I suggest during the day
However
The internet connection dropping should be followed by an automatic reconnection and there should be no need to reboot the router.
I will leave it to the experts on here to suggest reasons why you need to reboot it
However I have another question
Is the camera connected to the router by wire or wireless and if it is wireless is it possible that it is just losing the wireless connection as this is where a reboot may sort it

According to PlusNet, we are getting some dropped connections that do automatically reconnect, but also some that don't.
The camera is connected to the router by Wi-Fi, but is in the same room. And whenever I return to the property, it's the router internet connection which is down, and the camera is still sending. All the same, I've considered switching to a static ip address, so that I can try remotely pinging the router to check whether it's the router connection or the camera at fault, but PlusNet don't especially recommend it.

Also handy for turning on heaters and things before you arrive at your property.
You could also look at something similar to this )(but a UK specced version):

Yorkshire dales?
Welcome to the forums. As OJ suggests, the disconnections is an issue that merits investigation as a route to mitigate the issue. You should not be getting this level of disconnections, the cause needs to be identified and eliminated.
Can you please take a look at the "speed issues" thread at the top of this form and gather that information next time you visit the location?
Check the phone line - is it noisy? Dial 17070 option 2.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

Townman - Yorkshire Dales, yes. I've called PlusNet a couple of times about this, always friendly and helpful, but they don't seem to consider the frequency of dropped internet connections to constitute a 'fault'. Will note and check the tests that you mention next time I'm there. I believe, however, that we have to expect some instability, as the nearest cabinet is in the next village (about 2 miles away).

Not cheap though and you might be able to shop around and find a cheaper version. You would call the device and tell it to reboot your router.
As above though, even with a low rate, you shouldn't be needing to reboot the router but if the above saves you a few trips then it might be worth looking into.

At our permanent address, internet disconnects which fail to reconnect automatically are almost unknown, but at our Yorkshire Dales address, they happen about once a week. PlusNet don't consider it a fault, and suggested it might be due to maintenance at the exchange and failure to send a reconnect command. Didn't really sound right.

Sorry to hear you're seeing connectivity issues, would it be possible for you to DM me with username of the account that you're seeing the daily drop on?
I would be interested in looking into the RADIUS logs to see if we can see any patterns or maybe something that would point to a fault however I think the account linked to your forum username may be an alternate account.

Just looking at the account that you sent over, it looks as though the connection has been ongoing for the last 11 days. I've attached a couple of graphs to give a visual representation of the connection for you below:
Last 7 days -
<img src="http://community.plus.net/visualradius/generated/image14113833245753.png"/>
Month to date -
<img src="http://community.plus.net/visualradius/generated/image14113834004920.png"/>
It looks as though you have a decent run of multiple days and then you can see a drop which sometimes seems to recover however there are a few areas where the connection drops and seems to be done for quite some time. Is there anything you're doing to the router where it would be powered down for a long period of time?
Also, could you confirm the router you're using at the moment and possibly which one was being used when we can see the drops?

It could well be the case however with the initial post surrounding a reboot every day doesn't seem to link in with the RADIUS logs we see so before we use the above as a basis for a fault investigation, I just want to make sure that these drops are as we suspect.
