Will DNSSEC kill your internet?

Looks like the plusnet dns servers don't work ?Huh
From the Reg;-
Internet users face the risk of losing their internet connections on 5 May when the domain name system switches over to a new, more secure protocol.

It's optional (at the moment) so no issue. DNSSEC rollout to the root servers started in January.

DNSSEC

When DNSSEC kicks in in May do PN expect any problems with DNS services  - and are the Thomson routers shipped by PN DNSSEC capable?

Re: Will DNSSEC kill your internet?

I suspect the reported issue is more relevant to the connection between the PN DNS servers and the root servers, thus the Thompson routers provided won't be an issue.
I know that the Networks team are aware of this (in fact I also had a discussion with Bob about it today) so I suspect everything will be prepared in advance.

Lets hope so - I just wondering if if you've got other DNS servers set up on the Thomson router, or if you have hard coded them on your PC and are going through the router, if its going to work ... so really not so much the PN DNS servers but the ability of the Thomson routers to talk to other upstream DNSSEC enabled servers

I noticed the same thing - but if you read to the end of the article...

Home users using residential hubs should not panic if these tests return scary results. According to Mitchell, it currently only matters that the ISP supports DNSSEC. A dodgy Netgear box is not enough to kill your internet... cross fingers.
