Right, just tested with the router plugged into the test socket and there is little difference in the speed, in fact it was a touch slower.

trouble is powering up at this time of night will give you a lower speed, you are better to wait till weekend and reconnect your router between 9 and 3, you will get a better synch speed

Ok, thank you for that. I will report back after the weekend. I also thought that I will probably need to provide all the report data rather than just check the download speed?

HI Westonian,
When you're in the test socket you should look at the sync/connection speed rather than the download speed as this will be what determines your overall speed once profiles are aligned.

Where I live, about half the houses have a 30-40 dB line to the telephone exchange and the other half have 60 dB+ to the same exchange. I'm in the lucky half but my neighbour next door but two isn't so I get about four times the download speed that he does!
