Where is Jamesh when you need him!

Usually i would msg the main man. My mate who i recommended to Plusnet is having severe broadband speed woes. Can some kind person have a look at his profile and check everything you can, as the speeds are currently very much NOT acceptable.
Playstation is unusable when laptop is on, and speedtest is less than 20KB/s, with the exchange being 300m away.
The house is 2 months old, so wiring should be sound
Thanks

Re: Where is Jamesh when you need him!

I wouldn't bet on the wiring being sound on a new build property, the wiring inside the house isn't done by BT but by electricians, BT only do the wiring up to the master socket, luckily for me the electrician got confused in my new house and mixed up two wires so the extensions refused to work.  Since then BT have sent an engineer out 3 times to fix an outside line fault (bad line noise) so I wouldn't rule out a bad line from the off Smiley

Hmmm, can't see anything obvious. Although we don't seem to have ever received a delta report for the line.
Can you check what a BT speedtest says for me?

Re: Where is Jamesh when you need him!

Very odd, running a line test only gives me half the info it normally does, and there aren't any bRAS reports showing for your line either.
Let me see if I can find what's going on.

Re: Where is Jamesh when you need him!

We've been advised that an SNR reset is the quickest way to resolve this, this involves restarting the 10 day training period on your line but should then give us the Fault Threshold Rate and Maximum Stable Rate that are currently missing for your line. It'll also cause a bRAS profile update.
If you're happy for me to go ahead with this, please let me know.

Re: Where is Jamesh when you need him!

Everywhere I've checked is showing MaxDSL, however we have 0 results for most of the useful information on the product so something has gone awry.
