Re: What's happening with the speed recently?

I'm wondering what a few people posting in this topic are on about. Given that you have posted that your IP Profile is 6500, why router/filter are relevant I have no idea! And we're not in the ADSL2+ forum so why raise the topic of the trial?
I've just noticed that IE8 was being offered to my wife's PC as an automatic update. I wonder if traffic is high?

Just a thought - what's your usage like for this month?

Hardly anything, (1.81GB)  I've only just gone into a new month.

Re: What's happening with the speed recently?

I would not rule out the router. Last year I was suffering from poor internet speeds. The router was syncing at the normal speed, the LAN was working normally but if I did a speed test I was only getting 128kbps. Replaced the router and everything was back to normal, went back to the old one and back to being slow.

Re: What's happening with the speed recently?

Have you done a full reboot of the router (not just a disconnect/reconnect)?

Looking at our traffic graphs, there's nothing out of the ordinary for this time of day.

Re: What's happening with the speed recently?

So is this the sort of speed and service we're going to expect from now on?  I only ask because if it is then I'm afraid after 4 years of being a loyal customer it may be time for me to start looking elsewhere.
I can't even open up the main PN portal 90% of the time without it just hanging there.  Even these posts on the forum are taking forever to open and post.

Sorry for the comment on the ADSL2+ trial a while back. I was getting my forums mixed up.

Re: What's happening with the speed recently?

Now not only is the PS3 unplayable, so that's £120 of new games I can't play, but the latency in WoW is terrible.  Up until these last few days it has been fine, hovering around the 30ms-100ms mark and never causing a problem.  Tonight it's up to 500ms-1000ms mark and is causing severe problems in gameplay.
Considering all the other threads that have been started in the last couple of days about slow speeds, I say something is wrong somewhere on PN's network.  I can't even open the page to start a ticket as it keeps timing out.

Re: What's happening with the speed recently?

Still got the same problems, is nobody from Plusnet going to offer any advice?
I'm not being fussy or anything, but I really would like to use the internet that I pay you to access.  At the moment I can't even use Youtube as a small video is taking over 20 mins to load and I can't even get an HD one to play at all.

Re: What's happening with the speed recently?

You need to borrow/try another modem/router just in case that's causing the problem or to rule that out.
