I stated he could be on one of those 'fixed' 2Mb MaxDSL settings which also has a 488kb/s upstream speed.
@snarf if you disconnect your router from the wall for 30s and reconnect it, does the speedtester always show your speed set to 2272kb/s ?

Godsell - I'm not on a 2Mb fixed line, I'm on an 8Mb package, just stupidly far from the exchange (well not that far from the exchange, it would seem they've just routed the cable via Australia or something )
