A bit late to the party... but PUG have just posted this as a news story.
His title does raise the question... what does he now do? (the BBC have an interesting article on Job Titles, here - I like the one in the comments who's acronym was S.L.A.V.E.)
So I think it only fair we have our own guessing game about James' new title... to see who gets the closest (or funniest!).

Having just spotted a letter in my local paper I checked and the new name for a Head Teacher is Lead Learner 
Now - how about that for James

they want to sack someone there, A learner is one who acquires knowledge, a teacher is one who gives it out.,  No wonder you hear the Heducated say they learnt me nufin at skool

I think this video explains it well, its from Loughborough University  http://vimeo.com/4519446  the classes have a Tutor who does the ground work and a lead learner who sits in on the class and helps the other students self learn - not that I agree or disagree..
Takes me back a long while ago when I did Thermodynamics and Fluids, the Tutor set us a task and we had to find the solution, - a) how does a thermo bomb work  - it is a strong container with accurate thermo couples, a measured amount of fuel is burnt and the temp/vs time graph help you determine the calorific value
