At the moment my download speeds are all over the place, in January my IP Profile was 5000kbps and I was getting a steady 4500-4700kbps all the time. My line was rock steady and never dropped so I asked for my SNR Margin to be lowered from the 15db it was set at, this was done and is now at 9db. Before it was changed my speed started to jump around for no apparent reason although my connection is still solid and has never dropped, my IP Profile is now 6000kbps but my download speeds are just unpredictable.
I did raise a ticket but although CS seemed to try everything they could it made no difference, I have tried several filters, a different router and even dissing my phone, I,m connected straight into the master socket (which is just an extention box in reality), to rule out internal wiring I set up a wireless connection all without making a difference.
Here is the results of some tests I carried out in quick sequence today ;
Date Download Speed Upload Speed
Today 12:11 5088 kbps (636kB/s) 369 kbps (46.1kB/s) Share
Today 12:10 5517 kbps (690kB/s) 377 kbps (47.1kB/s) Share
Today 12:09 4011 kbps (501kB/s) 375 kbps (46.9kB/s) Share
Today 12:08 2932 kbps (367kB/s) 364 kbps (45.5kB/s) Share
Today 12:08 3478 kbps (435kB/s) 378 kbps (47.3kB/s) Share
and here are my router stats;
Line Rate 7200 Kbps 448 Kbps
Noise Margin 8.8 dB 20.0 dB
Line Attenuation 36.0 dB 19.5 dB
Output Power 19.8 dBm 12.1 dBm
Could anyone suggest a reason for this as I've tried everything I can think of,thanks in advance, jackoab.

To be honest I don't see anything particularly wrong with that, it looks like normal variation with an average of about 4200kbps.
What in particular do you think is not as it should be?
By the way, what is your IP profile now - as shown by PlusNet and by a BT Speed Test? Are they both still at 6000?

Surely a difference from under 3000 to over 5500kbps in 2 mins. can't be normal?, when my profile was 5000 I never saw a discrepancy of this size, it was always between 4500 and 4700.
My profile with BT and Plusnet is now 6000kbps. Thanks for your interest.
