Very slow speeds, drop outs, noisey line HELP PLEEEAAASSSEE!!!

Hi been with plus net for nearly 12 months, moved into a new build and had this problem from day 1! router stats below:
Uptime: 0 days, 0:07:58

DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 4,064

Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11.5 / 19.5

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 28.0 / 43.0

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 22.0 / 17.0

Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / ALCB

Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 9 / 0

Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 37 / 0

Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Link (Remote): 0

Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 235 / 0

FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 1

CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0

HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
My router is plugged into the 'master' socket although as this is a new build its one of those external BT sockets. Everytime the phone rings the broadband drops out and the line is always very noisey. I fitted a filter face plate and disconnected all ofthe other phone sockets in the house.
Have lived with this for too long someone please help us!!!!!!
thanks

Hi alanhughes.
Do you still have a noisy line with just the telephone plugged in on its own with no other equipment attached?

seems to be noisey with the router plugged in. No obvious noise on the phone with the router unplugged.

What router are you using?
Have you tried using another filter? Huh

How old is your router and have you tried routerstats http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm this will check for noise interference on the live so you can see if something is interfering with the signal.
It'll give you a good starting point.

It's a Thompson router as supplied by plusnet, approx one year old. Had these issues from day one tho. Thanks for the link, will run that when I get home

Re: Very slow speeds, drop outs, noisey line HELP PLEEEAAASSSEE!!!

Run the routers stats the main thing you are looking for is the SNR. Presence of interference will indicate whether you have issues with the line, even though the house is new build there may be a problem somewhere along the lines. I am having some similar noise issues which I'm looking into at the moment and it's no easy task.
If you have no extensions and tried different filters as well as connected into the test socket and still have noise issues then it might be a case of getting a BT engineer out to test the line but in all probability they will just listen to the line without the dial tone for any noise and possibly fit a new box for now.

I'd say the first thing you should do is to try a different router - if you can't get hold of one yourself PN will send you one (especially as they supplied the original).

Plusnet will lend one if needed as part of a fault investigation.
