Very slow speeds again during the evening.

The last month or so have been great, but the last couple of days the speed has gone down again. Web pages take an age to load, youtube videos are almost impossible. I know that my exchange is red, but I know that I can get better speeds than that because I have been getting it in the past with Plusnet and Sky. It was also red then.

I restarted router so I assume that changed gateway, which did not help.

There is no master socket in my house to test with, so can't do that.

No idea why it is a that, when I was on value I got over 6.5mbs down my line.
If I go on Plus.net and put my no. into the sign up it says 6mbs estimated.
I went to my friends house, he lives on the same street as me, but is on Sky and he gets 8mbs down his line during the evening.

You need to remember that Sky is likely to be LLU and Poplar is in the red so you might be affected by that.

I know, but surely less than 1mbs is unacceptable especially if I get over 5mbs in the morning.

At the moment I don't have much information to give, we're looking into why some customers are seeing considerable slowdowns during peak hours but I don't have any more than that at the moment.

Same with me speeds are 2000Kbps and below almost half of what i was getting last week.

It is annoying, I go couple weeks with near perfect internet, then weeks where its like this. I am actually thinking about leaving, I thought I would get half decent speeds with this ISP consistantly with all the reviews I had read. I think I will give it another 2 months then I will probably move to another ISP.

Dave's been asking for some information on other threads, can you try a BT Speedtest, one at www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk and try a tracert to both of them too.
We'd also be interested in the results from the 2nd test on the BT Speedtester, it should ask you to update the username/password in your router before doing the second test.

The speed test can be done at any time really, though I think the BT speed tester forces a wait between the first and second tests.

I am having exactly the same problems. get about 6.5Mb after midnight up until about 10am then it slows through the day until after 5pm it become unusable. Tests at night are usually around 0.5Mb.
I am on broadband your way  pro. The interesting thing is i have the cheaper package at my office about 400yards away and get 6Mb constantly.
I have tried changing routers, filters plugging into main socket etc but with no success.
I send a question to support but nobody seems to be answering.  Can anybody here help.
