Usenet speed via SSL?

At the moment my speed downloading from Usenet is topping out around 3200 KB/s which is just over a third of my current max speed. Will this still be the case during the 'Off Peak' period?
I know I could just wait and see, but this new found speed has made me impatient..., well, more impatient  Grin

Re: Usenet speed via SSL?

It should be your line speed, maybe it is your provider limiting it?
I am on an "overnight" (23:00 - 15:00 full speed) account but can max my line out when I use it, during the day or overnight as long as it isn't in the slow time then it drops to 100K  Cry But that is what I am paying for not PN's fault.

Re: Usenet speed via SSL?

Thanks for the reply!
It's a 50 Mbit account so it shouldn't be the provider, but will wait until after midnight to see what happens before I fire off a email to them.
Thanks again.

Re: Usenet speed via SSL?

Sorted it, you were right.
Their server had 'got used' to our old adsl2+ connection, they gave it a kick and we're flying now, thanks!
