Usenet Throttling??

Just been doing a bit of downloading on usenet (using Usenext). To start I was getting full line speed, approx. 7mb a second, but now it has dropped right down to 3mb a second, no one else in the house using the internet at all so nothing like iplayer competing for bandwidth...
Also did a speed test and got my full speed as usual, seems like usenet is being throttled, is this likely?

Which server are you downloading from and how many connections?

It's Usenext and I have 5 connections, most of the time it'll max out my connection but tonight it's about half speed...

See if the speed improves with more connections - 5 isn't that many.

just had another look, seems the files it's currently downloading are on a different server tweaknews.eu so that might be the cause,  will test something else on my usenext server to see if it's just tweaknews that is slow

Just done a search and there's a few recent posts about tweaknews speeds around the net.

Please let us know if you have any further problems with different servers - you shouldn't be seeing any issues from us.
