Upload speed faster than download speed?

Our connection's never been great, we're 2.1 miles from the exchange and notice things getting slower if it rains/is windy etc. The highest download speed we've had is around 700kB/s I think, at the moment it's sitting at 335kB/s - but what I don't understand is how the upload speed is sitting at 374kB/s? if our speed is being synced due to line interference how can we still upload faster?
For the record it's a new line, there are no neighbours with heavy useage, we're plugged into the master socket test socket and there's a filter on this socket and the extension socket.
Anyone any ideas?

Re: Upload speed faster than download speed?

Can you post some stats from your router, and a BT speed test.

Re: Upload speed faster than download speed?

From the Router:
DSL Status
  Connection Status Connected
  Upstream Rate (Kbps) 448
  Downstream Rate (Kbps) 608
  US Margin 7
  DS Margin 3
  Modulation MMODE
  LOS Errors 4
  DS Line Attenuation 63
  US Line Attenuation 63
  Path Mode Interleaved

DSL Statistics
Near End F4 Loop Back Count 0
Near End F5 Loop Back Count 0
From BT:
Your DSL connection rate: 608 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 401 kbps
Thanks for any help!
