Upload Speeds

I have been using plusnet broadband for approx. 1 month. My download speeds seem to be slightly faster than my last supplier. However upload speeds seem a lot slower. My router shows the following:
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 20,412
I think with my previous supplier the "up" figure was around 1,024.
Is this a feature of the  broadband package I'm now on or can anything be done to improve upload speeds?
Any information would be appreciated.

Hi,
You were on standard upload speeds of 448k. I've placed an order for this to be unrestricted. The order will complete in the early hours of Monday morning.
