Upgraded to Essentials Fibre with home phone - when activated?

I've been given a date (19 December) for switching the phone service over to plusnet - does this mean my upgrade from Value to Fibre is not activated until the same day? It was all installed a week ago but my download speed and account homepage are still 'value'.
