When I download a film from iTunes it eats into my monthly broadband allowance. That I understand.
However, when I then watch it on my TV via my wireless router and Apple TV box, is that additional broadband usage?

If the film is stored on your computer then watching it doesn't eat into your usage allowance.
Providing it is actually using the stored program and not streaming it afresh
