Unable to access portal 02 09 2008

i know the service status feed says this is fixed, but i can't access portal.plus.net at all.
pings ok but no web access
this is about 07:10 tuesday 2nd sept

Hi Paul.
I cant access the portal either.
There was planned maintenance this morning http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1220283322.htm but that should have finished at 6.30.
I'll flag it as a problem.

Hi all.
We are experiencing some internal network issues this morning which our engineers are currently working to resolve. Access to the website and some internal systems is affected.
We are currently unable to raise a problem to the portal nor issue a Service status.
Our engineers are working on a fix and we hope to have this resolved quickly.
We'll update with progress as soon as possible.

it's a bit embarrassing for you to have the service status saying resolved when it's not

Also finding this site is slow too - access to cgi slow too and email.
Phoned the Service status - all parts states there are no problems.

Yes the forum site is slow, websats are showing up on the status bar for quite a few seconds

Not just Plus net - a few other sites in UK seem slow as well.
Someone said even the BBC web site is slow !. But that is a hosting company in it's own right I would imagine
