Turning on router before activation?

Why does Plusnet say it's important not to turn it in before activation?
I turn mine on evert so often to see if I'm connected, what's the harm in that?

None I wouldn't think.
Just saves unnecessary complaints by people wondering why there is no internet connection before activation.

If it's turned on too early (before we set some of the line information) then there can be issues with the auto setup, however once we've sent the order to BT there shouldn't be any problems.
