Tuesday am - internet slow on two different Plus ADSL sites

Just checked with another user, and between 9 and 10 (at least) web access was incredibly slow for some sites - e.g. BBC page failed to load (or loaded as plain HTML) and remote access to a Windows server was impossible (time outs).  Former issue seems to have been resolved, but latter is still problematic.
Seemed site specific - e.g. Google loaded fine.
Checked Plus service status, and other ADSL websites, but no reference to this issue - may not have been a Plus specific issue, but did defintely happen at two sites in different parts of Central London.
Any ideas?

Nope, I'd have blamed the exchange if so.
All seems sorted now have to say - but odd no reports elsewhere.

Hi,
Have you tried rebooting the router on either of these sites?

We are receiving a number of calls from customers in the South of England reporting broadband connection problems. We believe there may be a network problem causing this as other Internet Providers are seeing similar issues.
The symptoms of this issue are extremely poor throughput or lack of connection. If you are affected by this, we would advise to power off your broadband equipment for 30 minutes before attempting to reconnect.
We'll provide further updates as they become available.
Kind Regards,

Ye-es... between 9 and 10.45 ,,,,
This got posted at 11 !!
Have to say - as much as I find Plus service to be better than the rest - these Service Status things seem to take too long to appear!

I don't think it was out there when I posted (and working from home so wasn't aware of chatter).
Beskar - BT normally tell us about these things after they've been spotted so there's a good chance it was well on its way to being fixed before we knew of it.

We haven't actually been told officially of any issues, this is just from the number of calls and pattern of them into the CSC. It's been seen also by Zen and BT Retail.

Re: Tuesday am - internet slow on two different Plus ADSL sites

Hi - thanks for the fast response, as always.
I don't know if this suggestion is impractical or...
... but is there not some way to add a 'potential but as yet unconfirmed issue' traific light to the Status pages.
i.e. as soon as you get e.g. 5 calls from people reporting the same problem (and who obviously aren't headbangers...) then flag it as a possible problem (to be confirmed/cancelled when you get more confirmation from BT etc.
Otherwise what happens is that many customers run around trying to work out if it is just their own router / phone line / exchange for an hour  before finally spotting the delayed 'official' status change...

Re: Tuesday am - internet slow on two different Plus ADSL sites

We put the service status out as soon as the CSC flagged they were receiving a number of calls about this out. We try and get information out as early as possible, in this case we can only make a post once the CSC let us know of an issue.
Changing the current service status tool is something we'd like to do, but isn't high on the priority list if I'm honest.
