Trying to increase my IP Profile

My question is,how many more days do i have to resync at above 3000 to get my 2000 setting back up from 1500.Barry Zubbel was helpful last week but i would have thought by now this would have resolveed itself.I closed my csc attempt to get it back up to 2000 with the words lifes too short.Any ideas again anybody.?

It's not what speed you re-sync at that matters it is the minimum sync speed reached due to disconnections before you restart the router.
Since your Noise Margin was 5.1dB while it is still light I suspect that will fall after dark potentially causing your router to lose sync and regain it at a lower speed. What minimum sync speed do you see?

Trying to increase my IP Profile

Hi spraxyt,i seem to be going back down to usually about1888ish,i think my problem is,ive tried learning about every eventuality but i dont think ive ever got my head round what happens with this maxdsl. My netgear as always synced high,as much as nearly 4000 but it used to go back down to say 2500ish and then settle at the2000 setting abselutely rock solid.I reported my phone/fax as noisy, like a cat purring yesterday morning,it has done this before and it looks like the answer to that is unplug and start again, should i maybe blame this, well it wasnt so much complaining as asking the csc, what the problem maybe,i changed everything round and back again and the phone/fax has been pretty quiet again,so i suppose i was thinking that barry zubel told me the system had put my snr up to 12 and that when it came down again to 6 i would be ok 2000 back again and away i go but it never goes down from say 3200ish i synced at last night to say 2500 or even the 2272 i believe you need for the 2000 setting,if it did i think the snr would be somewhere around the 6 but it looks as though the line has maybe changed permanently,i just dont know. Thanks very much for replying,i suppose i will just have to put up with whatever the line conditions are and thats that.kindest regards and up the owls.

Trying to increase my IP Profile

Thanks for that info, can you tell me if my resyncs when i have pulled the plug on my netgear router for the past 3 days and resynced above 3000 each time, are not taken into account at all.I would have thought they would have been in with that lot on your info resync page,or are they not relevant.I dont know because you havent given me any info on wether these are indeed of any use at all.Im not sure wether i am supposed to take your list as,yes there you are dont expect any better or what.?May i say as well that all the 1772 were probably when we had 3 days of restarting my netgear, went back up to my 2000 setting for about 15 minutes and then back down again, when wife decided to clean my office and i was back to square 1,i.e.1500 plusnet setting and not restarting netgear for 3 days or so and then restarting my netgear again.Hope that makes sense.
                                                  kindest regards mate,ray.

They'd only be there if the sync event resulted in your IP profile changing. It normally takes 3 days or so of synchronising at a higher speed for this to happen. As you keep on synchronising below 2000kbps, it keeps 'resetting the clock' so to speak.

Looking at your downstream attenuation, you've a very long line. In the old days of fixed products those figures would only have got you a 512kbps connection. The sync speed you have is around what I'd expect and in your position I'd leave things be. Having said that, speed isn't massively important to me as long as I have a stable connection. You could probably squeeze more out of your line by checking/improving the filtering and wiring in your house and requesting an SNR reduction however nothing's guaranteed.

Thanks for that info Bob,i dont need filters as my adsl fitting at the side of my pc,was fitted by a bt engineer and its that latest equipment, people always say you should have fitted. As far as i know the wiring is sound,he did the work and said everything was ok.The only thing im not sure about is the snr,i have been through the csc with this and gave up to be honest, with no fault on there part as far as im concerned.Barry Zubel asked me to ask the csc to drop my snr back down to 6,from as far as i could gather 12snr,that barry said it was set at, the time he spoke to me.Can i ask you then if my snr is set at 6 ,or 12,+has anyone asked for my snr to be dropped by bt from the csc.??I understand the advice you have given me about stable line or more speed and i do understand that it can cause problems. The only point i would make with all due respect and humility is,as i said to a Wednesdayite called Alex who was very kind and spoke to me on the phone from csc sheffield, the other week when this speed problem was picked up,is that when all said and done,i am the paying customers,so surely i deserve the benifit of any doubt and should be at least given the opportunity to get the chance of my 2000 speeds back and if it is in fact then found out,it is my line is rubbish and getting worse, then put it down to experience and no bt attitude which seems sometime to be,if they put us to any trouble,we aint going to help em after that as it were.Anyway, said too much already, kind regards ray.
