Re: Transfer to 21C Network/REIN Problem

Good news at last.
Quote
Thanks for your patience. I've spoken to the REIN team and they have confirmed that the case is now awaiting closure as the engineer has advised no more sources of REIN has been identified. As soon as the engineers report has been submitted the REIN case will be closed.
I've tested your circuit and can see that the connection is remaining stable and the line quality stats are great. I will keep hold of the fault for a further 7 days for confirmation that the REIN case is closed and will then pass this fault ticket back.

Thank you for the update. I have monitored the line for the last week and the interference does seem to have disappeared.
I have been seen FEC errors of on average 150 per min with the occasional peaks of 2000 per min, but nothing major.
I agree with keeping this ticket open for another week to confirm, but would like to ask for a line reset. At the moment my upload/download speeds seem to be locked at 888/14330 respectively and the SNRM seems to be hovering between 7.5 and 8.0
Thank you for your help in this matter, I'm just disappointed it has taken 3 months to get to this stage, especially considering 3 weeks after the first letter requesting access and the problem has been solved. Why was the letter not sent right from the beginning ? To be honest I do believe I'm deserved some compensation for the delay in resolving this issue, instead all I have had so far is an increase in my monthly payments.
Regards

Re: Transfer to 21C Network/REIN Problem

I've had a quick chat with Will who's been dealing with this issue for you. He is going to wait to ensure the issue is completely resolved. Once this is confirmed and the REIN Case is closed, he'll be in touch with you.

Re: Transfer to 21C Network/REIN Problem

Hey gtowen.
That's excellent news, I've nudged your profile for you. Will is due to re-test your line at some point today. As soon as he's done I'm sure he'll be back in touch.

Re: Transfer to 21C Network/REIN Problem

thanks Deano, for the moment the line is stable and speeds are gr8.
Not a major issue but the upload seems to be capped at 888.......... I know I have had uploads above 1.0Mb before so if this could be uncapped I'd be grateful Smiley

Re: Transfer to 21C Network/REIN Problem

An upload of 888 is usually a sign of the line being on interleaved, not necessarily it being capped.
That's RPM to you!!

Re: Transfer to 21C Network/REIN Problem

Ahhh thanks RPMozley, I knew interleaving was on but nobody mentioned the upload been held at 888.
I'm not a gamer so was not really bothered about interleaving been on.......... as long as the 888 max upload has no affect on skype, I'll leave it as is Smiley

Re: Transfer to 21C Network/REIN Problem

If the connection remains stable (fingers crossed) it's possible that the DLM will remove upstream interleaving allowing upstream sync speed to increase to its natural maximum. It might take a while before that happens though.

Re: Transfer to 21C Network/REIN Problem

@'gtowen' - now that you have come this far to improve your connection, you might as well try for maximum upload speed by raising a ticket to remove interleaving here - Help Assistant - Interleaving
If it doesn't work out any better, then you can use the same link to set interleaving back on again, or if problems are detected DLM might do it for you.

@spraxyt Thanks for the info
@purleigh  Thanks for the link, atm the line is only 3 days into the 10 day training period, so I'll see what it's like at the end before making a decision Smiley
