Throughput speed dropped from 380kB/s to 356kB/s

I may as well join the club of people complaining about every little thing as I've noticed today that my maximum download speed as reported by wget has dropped from 380kB/s to 356kB/s. Unfortunately I don't have a vast collection of speedtest graphs as evidence so people will just have to take my word for it.
My ADSL sync has remained connected at 3562 down / 612 up for over a month. Nothing has changed on my end. I was previously on ptw-ag04 (since 31 July), but there was a PPP drop yesterday at 12:30 and I'm now on ptn-ag04. I didn't download much yesterday evening so probably didn't notice at the time. My Plusnet "Current Line Speed" is no longer at 7.15, it's now the correct value of 3.1.
I suspect the 6% speed reduction is what I get from the correct plusnet current line speed being enforced vs. either it being too high or not being enforced earlier.

Re: Throughput speed dropped from 380kB/s to 356kB/s

It seems to coincide with your line speed profile changing as your IP profile is 3.39Mb/s and your line speed is set at 3Mb/s.

Re: Throughput speed dropped from 380kB/s to 356kB/s

The BT speedtester tells me the IP Profile is 3.14 Mbps and what I can see in the Plusnet member centre says 3.1. 88.2% of 3562 = 3141 (rounded down), the sync speed has not changed since 9th of July.
3.1 would be the correct profile assuming it's still 88.2%, 3.39 Mbps is about 95% of the sync speed.

It is 88.2%, I misread your sync speed, so the 3.14Mb/s profile is correct as it stands.

Re: Throughput speed dropped from 380kB/s to 356kB/s

Did you also misread the part about my sync speed remaining unchanged for over a month and counting? There should not have been any profile updates. I have no idea where you could have got your 3.39 and 3 numbers from.

Re: Throughput speed dropped from 380kB/s to 356kB/s

Our systems updated your profile

Your profile before this was set at 7150kbps, this was incorrect and maybe when you were seeing the slightly higher speeds. This was the profile update I was referring too which is now set correct to your sync speeds.

That confirms what I initially suspected. It just means that the "correct" profile is about 5% slower than the actual maximum throughput my line could sustain.

Looks like it something we have looked at regarding the profile in this thread.
