fwiw, if you are not experiencing any problems with your internet connection other than the red 'Internet' light on the router, it may be this 'bug' described here:

In America, some routers show a Red light when the CIA are monitoring you, allegedly.  Lips_are_sealed
And the clicks on the phone line cause mini dropouts, shown as missing characters.  Cool

Hi daved24,
Sorry to hear you've had a fault, I can see that we've detected no issues with your line. It might be worth us getting you a replacement router out, have you tried an alternative router at all?

Re: This shouldnt happen

You have been having a high number of disconnections on your line;

Are you connected in your test socket?

Re: This shouldnt happen

It's still disconnecting a fair bit, throughout the day. Definitely worth raising a fault but if you could test with the router in the master socket (even better the test socket) just to prove it's not your extension wiring at fault that'd be great - realise it's inconvenient and sorry about that, but the master socket test is always worth doing if only because it removes the risk of being charged if an engineer attends.

Re: This shouldnt happen

Have you got an active connection? Our logs are showing that the router has an incorrect password?
