The phone line coming into our house was cut and reconnected today...

And now I can't seem to get higher than 150 kB/sec, where as before this i'd get up to 750 kB/sec~
Could I have been put on a lower speed profile upon reconnecting it?
Here's some info:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1152 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :1472 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 1250 Kbps
Estimated line speed:
    6Mb (This may vary between 5Mb and 7Mb) - Checked on 2011-07-27 18:46:17
Current line speed:
    4.5 Mb

Re: The phone line coming into our house was cut and reconnected today...

The sync speed of the line seems to have dropped since this causing the IP profile to lower.
I've submitted an SNR reset which should help sort that out within the next 4 hours. Drop me a reply back on here if not Smiley

Have you checked if the phone line is nice and clear?

Hey, dropping back in to say that i'm still getting the same as before. Thanks for the quick reply though.
The line should be fine, it was pretty much perfect before now or so I'm told, but if you can tell me how i can check I'd be more than happy to do so.

Dial 17070 and use option 2 - quiet line test.
You should hear nothing - no crackles, buzz or anything else.

Absolutely silent, not a peep. And my speeds reverted to normal now anyway. Thanks all. :]

Excellent! It's always worth using that check after an engineer has worked on the line in case they've messed it up (as if a BT engineer would do such a thing! Roll_eyes )
