Waited for 33 mins on the phone. Still no answer. This is not worth my time.

not true.
you don't need to talk to plusnet at all to leave. you simply tell your new provider and they will migrate the services across.

if they are simply cancelling ALL services and not replacing them then that would quite unlikely.
