Try http://wiki.aa.org.uk/index.php/TG582N further down the page http://wiki.aa.org.uk/index.php/File:TG582n_CLI_Guide_v1.0_public.pdf but no instructions mind, it's just a list of commands  Roll_eyes
Oh, and welcome to the forums. Half of that lot won't be too much use as you are Fibre mind  Smiley

There's a CLI guide for the 10.2 firmware here: http://www.speedtouch.ca/pdf/TG582n-manual.pdf

and npr has constructed a pretty good guide to the commonly used CLI commands here http://npr.me.uk/telnet.html

Re: TG582n Command Line Interface (CLI) Reference Guide

There's some cli reference guides here, they have been extracted from the router by Alex (the site owner).
They are the ones ending with "v2.0.pdf.7z", the advantage is they also show hidden commands.

Re: TG582n Command Line Interface (CLI) Reference Guide

gatecrashing! IIRC there is one that allows event logs to be retained longer for viewing. Can someone point me to it, please?
No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

I wish I could find one to dump the log to text file on my computer.

Re: TG582n Command Line Interface (CLI) Reference Guide

Yeah, but I need to have some client running to receive it. I'd rather have the router simply write a text file to my hard drive on its own.

Re: TG582n Command Line Interface (CLI) Reference Guide

For the Thomson you need the following from a command prompt - make sure you are either in the directory you want to save the file, or specify the full pathname
telnet -f filename.txt 192.168.1.254

Re: TG582n Command Line Interface (CLI) Reference Guide

You could run a telnet script on a PC to issue Anotherone's command.
Automate it to run once every day or so, save the result and tidy up the with sed.
Good luck Wink
