Well, thanks to Townman, Strat and Mister W for all your help and advice.
Had the upgrade to fibre this morning and getting good speeds. I initially set up with an Ethernet cable and PPPoE connection. Later followed Mister W's advice, I flashed the firmware of my old router whilst awaiting the Home Hub 5 to arrive. I thought if it went boobs up I haven't lost anything. Anyway, everything went ok and I know have a wifi connection with the old router. So thanks gents.

Excellent news :). I suspected it would be fine to flash the old router since there's no difference in the hardware, apart from the red sticker identifying the WAN port for the Fibre ones.
The HH5 will almost certainly give you better wifi coverage though and, of course, you have the option to dispense with the BT modem and connect the HH5 directly to the VDSL port.
