I am going away and want to switch off my router while I am away. I am concerned that when I return that I will have isuues with reduced speed of the connection. Can someone confirm what impact switching off the router will have on my speed when reconnected?
Thanks

Hi,
Are you talking ADSL or FTTC?

I don't know about FTTC but with ADSL if you switch off your router whilst away then everything should be fine when you get back. If you leave it on and there is a thunderstorm or a series of power cuts you could find the connection speed severely reduced when you return. If you want to be really careful, get your router to disconnect before switching it off.

As a one-off on either service, it should be absolutely fine.

ADSL - Thanks for confirming the speed will remain constant after switching the router off for a few days and back on
