@kopperdrake, have you raised a ticket on your account? If you could provide the full content and headers from a bounce message sent to each of your domains then that would be really helpful. If you could also include information on the email addresses you are trying to send to and from then that would be great.

OK, we think we might have fixed this now, can everybody give things another try?

Hi Bob,
Seems to have fixed it for me  Smiley
What was the issue?

Re: Suddenly getting relay.pcl-ipout01.plus.net errors!

Ironport uses a Bounce Verification system, which is explained in a fair amount of detail here: http://www.ironport.com/company/pp_efy_news_07-27-2006.html.
While this is a great idea in principle, it seems that the domains that the people having problems with have been sending to are doing a reverse connection to check if the sending user is valid, which of course it isn't (ironport has made that part up) so the message is rejected, and the ironport bounces it back.
To fix this issue I have disabled the Bounce Verification on our outgoing ironport cluster, so it leaves the envelope address as is.

Just to add, it may not be servers doing a reverse connection, it could also be that the sending address is also looked after by that server, so it knows that the username is not valid.

Yes, it has been done. I'll give Ben a shout. Anyone else noticing problems?

Yes, I did it personally before my last post. The boxes work as a cluster, so the configuration is automatically synced across all of them. It may take a little time for the synchronisation to take effect, however I would have expected it to have caught up by now. Can you give it a go again please?
