Re: Sub-standard performance on Pro/PAYG

Sometimes but i think it happens everyday, uselly tends to slowdown around 4pm-12am,  But Presumely i should be getting around 6Mbps-7Mbps and most of the time i do, So anything under 6Mbps is basicly a slowdown.
Edit.

Gaming has been Werid Today. Latency seems to have increased then usual, Example World of Warcraft the max ping i can get is 51ms but now it seems to be 61ms and latency seems to increase from there to 80ms, Team Fortress 2 the Server i go to i usual get 34ms-47ms but now it seems to be 45ms-58ms. Yesturday Was completely fine so i'm wondering where this Extra Latency came from.  I don't remember changeing anything Except for Gateway hopping but still done that lots of times and my latency never goes up then the issue i'm getting today, i tipped the router but it was on a table so i don't think it would make a diffrence, might or not.
Bandwidth is fine during off-peak

BTW I have Interleaving on for about 3 months now.

Done a Quiet Line Test with a corded phone.
Done it at 19:46

done another speedtest  at 19:56 as well as another quiet line test.

I could Hear nothing At all in both tests. No buzz, hum,Cracking and no popping

If there is any more i can do then just say as i'm just wanting this issue sorted as fast as possible.

I know moaning is all I seem to do on here but I'm thinking of doing the same myself.
I've not had speeds over 2.5 Mbps in the two months that I've been on Pro.
I've had a ticket open for 6 weeks now, had a BT engineer out to confirm everything was fine my end. Now its been changed to a dropping connections problem ( probably from me constantly disconnecting and trying different routers)
I used to get speeds of up to 6.5 Mbps with my last provider O2 and only came over to plusnet because of the stability of speed that the Pro package offered and from friends recomendations.
They seen a little embarrassed now.

Is there anything anyone thinks I can do myself about this? or should I just jump ship and try another provider?
Thanks in advance for any reply.  Smiley

Re: Sub-standard performance on Pro/PAYG

Update on mine - I purchased a new router (belkin N+ the dual band one).
Seems to be much more stable.  Although the Netgear router did not drop the connection, when the SNR dropped below about 5.1, the throughput simply stopped.  A reboot and all was fine again.  I dont get this with the Belkin, it will sit at SNR as low as 3 (when we had bad weather) and it still functions perfectly.  I have not seen the peak time slow downs, but have also been testing the max premium which may have had an impact.
Also, Pings appear to be better.  Even at good times with the Netgear pings were never lower than about 21-23 on pingtest.net.  with the router swapped for the belkin, these can be as low as 15.  Not a massive difference, but certainly a noted improvement in gaming.
I have not seen the same level of slowdown with this router as I have the Netgear.
I cannot be certain as to whether it is soleley down to the router, as there were a number of other changes that came in around the same time - capacity, and max premium trial - so I may switch between the routers, if I get a bad spell with the netgear, Ill immediatley swap routers and see what happens.
Will update again as I have more.

Re: Sub-standard performance on Pro/PAYG

Hi Guys
I just found this thread.
I'm having the similar problems on my Pro service.  Around 430/5pm the speed takes a nosedive and stays that way until midnight or so.
I have raised a fault ticket but apparently it takes 3 days before I'll hear anything.
I can't see how this could be a hardware issue since during the day our speeds are find and it's only in the evening that we experience slowdowns.
Here are some stats from yesterday:
23:44  97 kbps (12.1kB/s)    68 kbps (8.5kB/s)
16:20 126 kbps (15.8kB/s) 99 kbps (12.4kB/s)
08:50 15005 kbps (1.88MB/s) 374 kbps (46.8kB/s)
It seems to me like there's some sort of traffic shaping happening but there shouldn't be on the Pro service.

Hi
Yes I did check and it was green (still is).  Although apparently last week the Tulse Hill exchange had some sort of problem which might be causing the speed issues post 4pm.
It appears to be a BT issue rather than a plusnet issue so that makes me feel better in a way (i.e. Plusnet aren't mucking around with our connection!).

I'm seeing a drop in speeds tonight and latency on my line is very badly affected.
