Strange latency spike this evening

I just noticed I was getting higher than usual ping speeds.
Checked my TBB graph and sure enough there's something going on:

A traceroute shows this going on within the Plusnet network:
1  192.168.1.254 (192.168.1.254)  4.626 ms  1.465 ms  2.210 ms
2  lo0-central10.pcl-ag08.plus.net (195.166.128.189)  28.889 ms  28.790 ms  34.685 ms
3  link7-central10.pcl-gw01.plus.net (84.93.249.236)  31.324 ms  37.562 ms  31.009 ms
4  xe-2-2-0.pcl-cr01.plus.net (212.159.1.12)  197.548 ms  200.261 ms  196.593 ms
.. and it appears I'm not the only one. Checking http://community.plus.net/ping-graphs/ there are three other users experiencing the same thing - avatastic, prettyflyguy and sheffield_steel
... any ideas what's up?

Re: Strange latency spike this evening

be nice to hear what PN say is going on without asking for more tests, surely by now they must have plenty of test results from other customers to decide what is happening  Roll_eyes

That was a problem with a piece of kit on the network..  I actually called an engineer out once i got home and spotted the graphs.  It should be better now.

Cool, thanks. Maybe time for something a little more automated to be added to your NOC monitoring systems? Smiley
