i personally am a fan of ESET's NOD32, although its not all that user friendly, it is pretty sharpish in terms of performance.
Dont need to take my word for it though, reading Here and looking at "main tests" and "Performance tests"
You'll find quite often the better performing ones, are actually better at protecting you too (suprisingly)
if your not too bothered about the testing data, skip to the end, theres normally a table which tells you in graded within 3 or 4 bands, from excellent, to poor.

Hi Jessica,
I can see one of our senior faults agents is looking at your fault now and should be on the phone to you shortly (if not already) to discuss this with you. I suspect an engineer visit will be necessary to find out what's causing this, hopefully that will happen soon for you.
