Re: Strange broadband 'interruptions' - Anybody else having similar issues?

Hi AndyH,
My issues are daily interruptions in my connection which don't appear to be disconnections but stop all traffic. Check out my TBB monitor link and see the many spikes:

Hi Zico
I believe I am suffering from the same problem as you then as I've had a lot of websites stuck on "Loading..." the last few days.
My speed has also dropped dramatically and pings increased too.
I've signed up for the same TBB monitor so should have something to compare to you tomorrow.

The spikes are only temporary and at other times things have been ok. The larger latency 'hills' have become a more common occurance since early January.
This is on my FTTC connection at home.

I too have been having the same issues described by Zico on my ADSL connection. The issues tend to last for between 15 and 30 minutes and usually in the late evening.

Same strange disconnections here. I've checked the exchanges and no problems locally. I am interleaved.

Zico:  I think you've got something more sinister going on.  A fault perhaps.  Do you have a different router to try?
MrPig:  That graph doesn't show any disconnections, just the signs of a busy connections.  What sort of thing are you seeing?
Grimshield:  Slow downs at peak?

I am being disconnected randomly, my router is telling me it's disconnected.
If I manually force my router to connect it does, could there be a fault in the network?

Do these correlate with when you are disconnecting?

Yes, looks like it. I've just had a disconnect 2 minutes ago!

We've not seen the disconnect a couple of minutes ago, what's the status of the lights on the front of the router?

Connected again.
My wireless tray icon had a yellow triangle on it. Signal strength excellent but when I open up Netwrk & Sharing Center in control panel it says limited access.

That sounds like a router issue more than your connection.
What router are you using?

No, no spare router to try.

Back online again!
I'm monitoring the situation and so far no failures, it's usually only a brief disconnection. The router is relatively new, Belkin F9J1002V1
Just noticed my output power has dropped to zero! That normal?

That isn't going to be caused by your broadband connection dropping, that's most likely the connection between your computer and router. Can you try using an ethernet cable and see if you still see as many disconnections?
