Static IP for WiFi device

I have a Technicolor TG582n router and I want to be able to assign a static IP to a RasPi connected via WiFi.
I have done this for when it is connected via cable OK (configure the connected device and tick teh static IP address tick box and apply) but doing the same doesn't work for the wifi connection?Huh
Any Ideas why/what i can do?
Cheers

Re: Static IP for WiFi device

If you're OK with using telnet to access the router then you can get it to fix DHCP leases by Mac address. See here http://npr.me.uk/telnet.html , the section titled 'change Lan IP of a connected device'
