Success! Dabs from Plusnet rang to confirm the engineer had been this morning and to ask how things were.

He reset my line profile from his end and asked me to reboot my modem.

 

I now have two and a half times the download speed I had previously and at 9Mbs, eighteen times the upload speed!

Given all of the hassle you've had from BTOR, this is a darn rich, but sadly oh so typical.  BT engineers know that its THEIR equipment which inform ISPs of the line profile and that the BTw systems can take while (and sometimes fail) to pass on profile changes.

If the PN Profile actually impacts your data speed, that suggests that you have a fixed IP address - correct?

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.
