SquirrelMail : Broken. Again.

Yet again webmail is down. I'm getting a '113 no connection to host' error.
One could be forgiven for thinking that PlusNet are taking the Michael.
The most important aspect of Webmail while travelling is reliability.
Now it's a '110 Connection timed out.
Do PlusNet provide a webmail service or not? If not, will they please stop pretending to do so. That way, those of us who need a reliable service can make alternative arrangments.
(Please don't tell me to check service status; that's simply not practical where you need to use an internet service as and when you can.)

From here in SE Asia it appears to be 'off' more than  it's 'on'.
It's a (very bad) joke.

Re: SquirrelMail : Broken, but apparently not relevant to its usability.

There was a post here earlier about webmail being down, which I tried to reply to but it disappeared while I was writing my reply.
Couldn't access webmail at all earlier but assumed this was an over-run of this morning's portal maintenance. When I did eventually get the initial page it was OK to start with and then got extremely sluggish, plus threw up some errors e.g. telling me I needed to be logged into the account I had just logged into and was checking. It's a bit quicker now but still taking longer than usual to load pages completely. In particular it seems to be struggling to 'show all' for Spam folders when I'm checking for false positives.
Anyone else having problems?

Re: SquirrelMail : Broken, but apparently not relevant to its usability.

Today I am having problems logging into my webmail, every time I enter my username and password it returns with an error saying "2 Preference database error. Exiting abnormally". Is there a problem with the webmail today or is this a problem escalating from the outage the other day/night?

Yeah it seems to have fallen over yet again albeit intermittently  Huh
Edit: I can access my inbox usually but get a 'need to login' error on my spam folder

Re: SquirrelMail : Broken, but apparently not relevant to its usability.

There was a message re webmail being down but it disappeared while I wrote my reply. I just posted another message, entitled "Wonky webmail?" about the problems I was having, but that, too has disappeared.
I managed to log in OK after the initial 'problem loading page' but got an error about not being logged in to one account I'd just logged into and had been checking. Generally though it just seems sluggish now but not all the time.

Re: SquirrelMail : Broken, but apparently not relevant to its usability.

Well I guess your right as I have just tried it again and this time I got in. I hope this is just a one off as ill be a bit unhappy if it continues for any length of time, due to the fact that I am away from home and its the only way I can respond to mails for my business.
