Speed slower than standard ADSL?

Hi, hope this is the write place to post this.
I recently moved over for normal ADSL to Plusnet's ADSL2+ service - I've signed up for Plusnet Premium.
Previously, I'd normally expect a speed test to come back with a result of about 5 or 6mbps. Since moving over to ADSL2+, things seem to be going a lot slower! I expected this for the first few days, but I'm wondering how long things take to sort themselves out?
These are my results from the BT Speedtest tonight:
Quote
Download speed achieved during the test was - 1733 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1000-99999 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :17865 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 439 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 15000 Kbps

This is some information from my router as well which might (?) be relevant?

ADSL Line Type  ADSL2+
ADSL Line Coding FAST
Line Attenuation (Down):12  (Up):6
Noise Margin (Down):9  (Up):27
Total Output Power (Down):0  (Up):0
Current State DownStr: 17865(K)  UpStr: 439(K)

Is this normal and should I just be more patient to wait for things to sort themselves out?

Re: Speed slower than standard ADSL?

No that isn't normal and you should see significant increase in download speeds compared with those you got on ADSL Max.
I suspect your 'current line speed' shown on this portal page says 2000 when it should be 15000 to match the IP Profile shown in the BT Performance Test.
2000 is the initial default value and it should update automatically within 12 hours of BT setting a new value. If it does say 2000 I suggest ringing the CSC and asking them to increase it.

Re: Speed slower than standard ADSL?

Ah - it does say 2000! I'll get in touch with Plusnet later. Thanks!
