I'm afraid there is. Just look at some of the other posts in the others threads on this board.

Re:Speed issues this eveing

It was patch Tuesday yesterday.
6 critical updates pushed out to about quarter of a million people Sad
We are starting to see sign of improvement however, but last night would not have been a good indicator.

So what's your excuse for it being slow as hell tonight then?  Pages are taking ages to open, constant time-out and DNS errors are a plenty.    There's no difference from last night, so are you going to say that this is just "patch Wednesday" and be done with it?

Re: Speed issues this eveing

I rather suspect a lot of people may not have had their computer on yesterday so the Microsoft traffic will still be heavy (although not quite as much as last night).

Re: Speed issues this eveing

Browsing is a little slower but so far a speed test and ping test to jolt are returning normal results. What gateway are you on?

Re: Speed issues this eveing

OMG, not good (the throughput speed). If you normally achieve that sync speed easily in the evening, you could risk a reboot of the modem/router, but I'd do it by powering down and waiting say 10 minutes before powering up again. If you don't want to do it tonight, do it between say 0900 and 1500 tomorrow to hopefully get the best sync.
Otherwise you could try a soft-disconnect from the internet, to Gateway hop, if you have a Connect/Disconnect button on your Modem/Router interface.
HTH.
