Speed has crashed

For some reason my speed seems to have dropped off signifigantly.  I was trying to watch programmes on Crunchyroll in HD which my connection can handle with ease but it got juddery, that was yesterday so tried again today at 480p and again with the judder.  I ran a test on mybroadbandspeed which was hovering around 300k before jumping to 900 (I think it's Kaspersky that breaks that) so ran a BT speedtest:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1270 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8096 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7000 Kbps
So my profile is fine, 7000 but my speed is well down on what it should be.  I'm not on managment, and even if I were it's off peak.
Router stats are:
DSL Status: Up
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
Downstream Rate: 8096 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 9db
Upstream Margin: 22db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 30
Upstream Line Attenuation: 15
Downstream Transmit Power: 19
Upstream Transmit Power: 12
Which is how it's been since I moved, although Margin is up from 8 to 9.  I can't think of any reason why my speed would fall over.  Any suggestions or should I just open a ticket?

Re: Speed has crashed

What does https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=stable_rate say for your current line speed?

Re: Speed has crashed

HI David W,
I've had a look from our end and can't see any obvious reasons. I'd firstly go through the troubleshooter: http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/bbfaults/slowspeed.shtml ; follow that though and if no better then definitely raise a ticket.

Re: Speed has crashed

I've ran through, my exchange is green, PC is clean so I'll try a different router during half time and see if that works, if it doesn't then I'll open a fault Smiley
7000 btw Jelv.

Re: Speed has crashed

Wired, switched router from my Buffalo to my Netgear, the connection speed changed:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 31 db 8 db
Noise Margin 6 db 26 db
Attenuation went up to 31 but Noise down to 6 so speed capped at 8128, which is nice, speed though:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 616 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7000 Kbps
Went down, so time to open a ticket.  Good footie match!

Re: Speed has crashed

Any chance ticket 33865370 could get a look at?  It hasn't been touched since Friday and my speed is still terrible.

HI David W, just spoke to someone in faults and got them to check it. They said they will update the ticket shortly.

Re: Speed has crashed

Cheers Joanne, the ticket got a kick up the backside and is moving forward really fast, had a nice chap from PN phone me up to let me know what was happening (problem with virtual path or something) so now it's twiddle thumbs time whilst waiting for BT to get their groove on.  Very impressive from PlusNet though (as always really).
