My speeds up and down have crashed from pretty good results of over 10mbs to awful
Also Plusnet or BT have downgraded my current line speed to 1750
Any idea what may be going on ?
With thanks in anticipation
Steve

Can you plug the router in to the test socket inside the master socket without any telephones or anything else connected and get the router stats page. The figures we need are the Down Speed and the SNR Margin.

Your connection appears to have been rather unstable since the 15th, resulting in the 1750 profile you have now. Has anything changed locally?

Having recently redecorated some absolute nincompoop (OK, have to admit it was me !) forgot to put the ADSL filter back on one of my phone lines
With my Plusnet Current Line Speed at 1750 will I have to wait till the system retrains itself or are one of you able to bump me back up ?
What a twit !
Most grateful to you guys for your help
Best
Stephen

What was the noise margin after you put things right and you synced at a near normal speed? If you have been given a higher target SNRM it could take a few weeks to fully recover.

Am still slightly worried that my speeds don't match. The router seems to still indicate very high speeds.

So if you've fixed the filter problem today then the IP profile should go up sometime between tonight and Sunday morning so long as the sync speed doesn't decrease in the meantime.

tried rebouting router but no joy tried switching gatesways and still getting speeds of 6500. Every time i rebout the sync stays the same so i think i am on a banded profile once again
for what reason i do not know.
can any one shine some light on the decrease in speed?
