Speed down last two days

Hi. 
My speed has come right down the over the last two days, and I can't think what's causing it. I'm only getting about 1000 Kbps when I should be getting a lot more.  The router is plugged into the BT test socket (it's always in this!), and I've tested both peak and off peak times (Legacy Premier Option 1).
The latest BT speedtest is as follows:
Download speed achieved during the test was - 1093 Kbps

Oh yeah, I forgot that bit of info!  It says the following:

Ok.  Ignore everything I posted... back to normal this morning.  Not sure why but I'm not complaining!

It's worth keeping an eye on it. Were those tests done wired or wireless.

Hi Jojo,
My router is right next to the primary master socket with wired gigabit network round the rest of the flat.  I don't use wireless as security and speed are important issues for me!
