HI ianccole,
Excuse me for being dumb here, but what is the fix you're asking about?
Jojo Smiley

Hmm - maybe I missed something but ...
The packet captures showed iPlayer traffic with a Differentiated Services Field: 0x60.  Similar captures on the PC show the same field as 0x80 and indeed playback on the PC is fine. I thought you had passed this on to your network team for reclassification:
"I've picked up your ticket and passed it over to be reclassified, so this should solve the issue for you."
So  - I guess I'm asking if this reclassification has happened. Last time I checked playback on the Sony it was still borked after 6pm.
BTW - iPlayer is on EX403 and above. these are 2010 models.
Thanks

HI ianccole,
I've just had the capture checked and we need the capture to start before you start the stream.

Re: Sony Bravia iPlayer - incorrectly traffic shaped?

Hi JoJo,
Do they need the outgoing packets that initiate the stream?
I don't know how the traffic classification works - is the outgoing request used to trigger the classification of the subsequent incoming packets?
Anyhow - I'll have a go at capturing the start of the stream. I just hope it does not get too big for my WRT54G.
Thanks for chasing this.

Re: Sony Bravia iPlayer - incorrectly traffic shaped?

Hi Ian,
It's not dependent on the outgoing packets but on the source and signature of the incoming traffic.
No worries, as soon as you get it done I'll do my best to get it looked at asap.

Re: Sony Bravia iPlayer - incorrectly traffic shaped?

Hi JoJo,
I have saved a new capture here:
http://www.ianccole.plus.com/files/sony2.pcap
This covers from the start of the request until a few seconds in. ~ 4Mb.
Packet classification problems seem to begin at packet 169 some 6s in. (probably when the actual stream begins)
I have replied to the ticket also.
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian,
I've asked someone to take a look at that, so will let you know when we have a bit more info.
