Slower and slower and slower

My broadband has been declining a little ever since I got it... but now, oh my, thats BAD.

I've just been checking your account and ran some line tests. Your PN & BT profiles are 17000, your sync rate is 17840, SNR 12dB. The VP at the exchange is showing green. With such a low throughput I would have a look at our troubleshooter and raise a fault if nothing helps there.

No line noise and dail tone, check
Filter plugged in correctly into master socket, check (I only use a mater socket anyway, no others sockets exist)
Alternative router - not tested.
Have also powered down and rebooted all network equipment, have carried out LAN only speed tests, I've unplugged and re-plugged everything.
The modem itself reports no errors that I can see.
And its getting worse


Soon I will have no connectivity at all.

OK, I jumped through a bunch of hoops, and the BT fault checker thing, what a total failure that is!
Test 1 & 2 say

However test 3 is impossible for me to complete, since test 3 involves reconfiguring the modem to, which I can do, but then my DNS servers can't resolve the name in the URI for test 3, just how DUMB are BT?  They could have used 3 different solutions, just like pay wireless people do
1) allow DNS through
2) reply to all DNS with the IP of the test server
3) use an IP address not a name
Hardly difficult BT, but obviously too difficult for you!

So if you unscrew the faceplate of the master socket then it comes of completely with no wires attached?

Are you able to try another router and possibly another machine? If you can try another router and it's the same then raise a fault. In the meantime I'll email BT and make sure there are no issues with the VP.

Removing a faceplate is unfortunately beyond my physical abilities.

And I should be able to test a new router/modem later today too.
But it's all a far cry from ~20mb I was getting
