Slow speeds

Hi,

For the past month or so i've been getting slow speeds. Currently 15mbps. No downloads, no one else uses my connection.

I've been patient but I'm tired of youtube, netflix, games etc buffering/lagging.

NG5 5FH, Nottingham. FYI,  I don't care anyone knows my postcode.

Is there a reasonable explanation or should I simply change provider for some reliability and value for money?

Re: Slow speeds

Hi @UnhappyJoe

The current line speed (the routers connection speed to the Openreach cabinet)  is shown as 36 Mbps.

This is much faster than your downland test.

Are you testing the download speeds on a device connected  by WiFi?

WiFi speeds can be affected by things like: the positioning of the router and the amount of interfering WiFi signals from the neighbours etc

Some on this forum have posted about WiFi issues with the Pulsnet supplied routers.

Can you undertake a speed test on a PC connected by an Ethernet cable to the router?

If that is OK it is definitely a WiFi issue and there are some ways to adjust the WiFi settings to help improve the speeds.
