Re: Slow speeds

I don't work for Plusnet!
During daylight hours tomorrow (around midday would be best) can you disconnect and then reboot the router please and then immediately post the router stats again.

Re: Slow speeds

Go in to the router interface and then click Disconnect. Then turn the router off and on again. You may have to click connect again once it has completed the restart.

Re: Slow speeds

Summary of the two results
Before
Uptime: 1 day, 18:44:14
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 3.776
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27,0 / 48,0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 20,0 / 11,3
After
Uptime:0 days, 0:02:19
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:448 / 5.664
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:27,0 / 48,0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:20,0 / 5,8
The changes are in bold and indicate one of a couple of things
There was a line reset by the automatic systems - unlikely
The previous resync was at a time of very high noise (apparently at about midnight from the router stats) and the noise margin increased during the day - very likely
Now the critical factor assuming that my supposition is corrected is why the big change in noise margin
Assuming that you have a Plusnet Router can you install Routerstats http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm and monitor the noise margin to see how much it varies.
If there is a big variation then we can suggest a couple of things to try
Finally - when you post the stats in future we really only need the bits I have copied into this post and it would be nice if you could remove all the blank lines etc.

Re: Slow speeds

Speeds won't change until the IP profile given by the BT speedtest and the the Plusnet Current Line Speed update - probably two or three days for it to happen
Your line doesn't require resetting as it is already at the best setting for your line
You haven't advised whether your exchange is 21CN enabled http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ ; - this is what we are looking for
"BT have advised that this exchange is enabled for WBC on 21CN"
If you post the results from this link it will help http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/PerformanceTesterWS/diagnostics.do

Re: Slow speeds

I have not changed your post as for your previous ones   - can you please edit it to get rid of all the blanks
My comment about 2 to 3 days before the IP profile changes and speeds improve is correct

Re: Slow speeds

Best you can do at the moment is run the BT diagnostic speed test and keep an eye on the IP Profile to see when it changes.
I'd also support Jim's recommendation to install RouterStats.

Re: Slow speeds

Are you aware of when the resync occurred which lowered your sync speed?

Re: Slow speeds

Without trying to sound stupid but I not quite sure what you mean about resync, No knowledge of routers whatsoever, but the lower speeds started roughly a week ago.
Thanks.
