Slow speeds since Saturday

These are the typical speeds I am getting since about 16.00pm on Saturday 9th October...prior to this my download/upload was excellent

I've been on to customer support where after testing the line they said the problem lay with my Netgear DG834 router being unstable on ADSL 2+ broadband.( I also tried a ZYXELPrestige 660R-61, had the same problems) I was told by CS (Alex) that they would send out a new Thomson router and that would fix my problem., although I wonder if the problem at my exchange or line, meanwhile..I'm still waiting for the router to be delivered , anyone from CS happen to know my delivery date will be...

Hi there!
Just had a quick look for you, our routers usually take 3 - 5 days to arrive, though it is marked as dispatched from our warehouse now, so you should expect it within the next two or three days Smiley
Hopefully this will fix your speed issues and you can return to your normal speeds!
It doesn't look like there is anything happening at your exchange at the moment, but a handy tool that we use to find out is:
http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/
If you put your postcode in there you can see if there are any known and documented issues on your exchange. Grin

Got my new router and guess what not one iota of a differnce in speed....what the heck is going on at Plusnet can someone please let me know. I'm still not convonced that this a router problem and my fault lies with external BT line as my Netgear DG834 router was tested directly from the master socket and was showing exactly the same sort of speeds that I am getting with my new Thomson router

HI ggiannandrea,
Your speed has now lifted to 3000, you just need to go into your router and disconnect then reconnect and you'll see the difference.

Is it best to leave the router switched on 24/7 for next few days till it obtains its maximum speed ?

It's always best to leave the router on all the time. I can't remember the last time I switched mine off.

Ok thanks for that ;but it looks like things are going downhill again, and nobody has replied to my updated ticket comments...CS service must improve

Eventually gave up trying to get a decent connection and phoned CS and spoke to ( Kus) who told me that my line was currently showing as being disconnected to which I told him that I was currently on-line at the moment, he then read my open ticket (10/10/10) and suggested that the fault possibly lay with BT line or elsewhere ? ( so much for them putting initially the blame on my Netgear router )and that someone would phone me back withing 24hrs...I won't hold my breath on that issue as I've had no response to my open ticket since Friday.Come Plusnet you must keep a better customer service than this. Angry
New Thomson router from Plusnet and still no luck Angry

I got a reply from CS yesterday and have now plugged my Thomson router into the BT master socket (behind faceplate) and I'm now having further tests on the BT line (2nd attempt) so I'll find out by Wednesday  where the fault lies

I'm not exactly sure what's going on here. These are the connections for the last 24 hours or so. The one just after 1 this morning was the ip profile being reset I wonder if the others were you or the line dropping?
The profile is now back up to 3500 so if you go into your router and disconnect/reconnect you'll see the speed go up. When did you plug into the test socket, it seems to have helped but obviously we'll have to keep an eye on things.

It was plugged into the BT Master socket at about 5.00pm yesterday and I did not use the internet after about 6.30pm yesterday evening.

regarding the line dropping or being reset  I'm not sure what that means but the router has been plugged in and powered up 24/7 since I obtained it from you on Friday
.I will reboot the router and give it another test for you
