Sad Router has re-sync several times since 2pm today, now sync'd at just 2400K

We can see the connection continues to drop out.  If this is at the test socket and has been tested with an alternative router perhaps we should organise an engineer visit?

Re: Slow speed (IP profile 135K, but modem sync is 2-3Mbps)

Hi Alex,
BT were out with me on 17th, could not find a fault with the line. I just had to stop a call because the line noise was so bad, and when I checked the router had resync'd.
Is there anyway you can re-open the existing call with BT? I need to stay on them until this line problem is solved.
I've been connected directly to the test socket for weeks, and I've tried diffferent routers and splitters.

If the telephone side is noisy/crackly then we need to deal with that first.  This is the likely cause of the ADSL drop outs.  Is the noise on the line constant or do you find that this happens intermittently?

Re: Slow speed (IP profile 135K, but modem sync is 2-3Mbps)

Hi Alex,
Sometimes the line is perfect, but when the weather is windy the line crackles. When it was very windy a week or so back the line would actually drop dialtone. Unfortunately, the line behaves faultlessly whenever BT attend the property (six times now) and they've been unable to trace the fault.
The latest BT visit (Wednesday) was a two man team who checked the line (no problem found) and then went out clearing branches from the line.
Can you re-open the fault with BT ? The PN fault # is 45398714

Re: Slow speed (IP profile 135K, but modem sync is 2-3Mbps)

I've responded to your fault ticket and sent an SMS requesting dates and times for an engineer to come out and check the PSTN side.  Once received we will book the appointment and escalate the case for you.

Further to this, an appointment for a telephone engineer has been booked for 22/08/11 AM.

Re: Slow speed (IP profile 135K, but modem sync is 2-3Mbps)

Internet has now been trucking along at nearly 3Mbps since Saturday afternoon, despite the line being noisy for calls.
The router has resync'd a few times but the IP Profile seems to be holding steady.
BT Line Engineer called today as planned, but perfect weather means there was no real fault for him to investigate.
There is now a ticket (#45788604) open for BT to visit at short notice when the weather is causing noises on the line.
Thanks for your help so far, much appreciated and I'm very happy to have broadband back again  Smiley
