Re: Slow internet

If you want faster speeds you might have to consider moving to somewhere nearer the exchange!
Have you checked your local council's BDUK plans to see if there is anything in the pipeline?

Re: Slow internet

Please post router log and router stats.
You may have a connectivity stability issue (CRT what shows on the radius log please) however (and whatever you might think / wish) short of picking up your home and relocating it closer to the exchange, you are not goIng to get faster on ADSL.  End of!  You are limited by the laws of physics.
Which light is flashing on the router?  Read the router guide, it is most likely this indicates data being sent / received.

Re: Slow internet

Different?  What?  Where?
There is a big difference between speed and stability.
Stability is how long it remains connected - above you suggested you had experienced a disconnection, hence the request for stats and logs (not graphs).
Your stats indicate the link is running as fast as Physics can perform with ADSL technology on your line. To go faster you need to change the technolog (FTTC) or shorten the distance between your home and your exchange. Given the reported length of your line (69.5dB) your line speed is unreasonay GOOD!

Re: Slow internet

Update: You posted the PPP session summary details not the full dsl stats. Look at the speed issues thread, otherwise when I can get onto my computer I'll post a link.
The xdsl session dropped for no reason apparent in the logs. What version of firmware are you on?
@CRT can you please share radius report and error history?  It might be necessary to slow this line down (raise SNRM) to improve stability as this line is running far too fast for the reported attenuation. Is there aluminium in this circuit?  Are there alternate e-side truncs with a better attenuation?

That means that your IP profile is 1558 which is rounded down to a Plusnet current line speed of 1500. This is the maximum physically possible for your current sync speed. In practice, down hill with a tail wind, you'd expect to get up to about 1400 maximum due to the overheads. That is up to 175k bytes per second. So the 150KB/s you are getting on bittorrent is pretty good - especially if you haven't set any upload speed limits in bittorrent.
Sync speed decreases as attenuation increases and attenuation increases with distance from the exchange. http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php is a pretty good indicator of the speeds you should expect. It doesn't give predictions above 67db for which it says 1632kbps. For 66db it says 1728 - around 100kbps drop per extra db. So for your 71db it would suggest a sync of around 1200. You are doing far, far better than would be predicted by this tool.
Here's the results from another well respected source: http://www.coolwebhome.co.uk/calc/index.php?param=RG4gMTc2NyBEbiA3MSBEbiA2LjMgRG4gMQ==#res That would suggest your speeds are right for your line.

Re: Slow internet

youre a tech guy ..
There's no way you're going to convince me that 150kB/s is good .
people dont understand how annoying this is until they're in this position .
If there;s nothing that can be done i'll just have to leave plusnet for a different ISP who provide better speeds

Re: Slow internet

It might be worth checking what BT say your line should be capable of (in case the attenuation is higher than it should be as the assumption is currently that you're a long way from your telephone exchange).  What result does this give:? https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html
Changing ISPs cannot (significantly) improve slow speed caused solely be a long line, the only alternative would be to use a service that is not delivered via the phone line (Virgin Cable if available, 3G/4G if local coverage is good enough and cost effective for your usage, satellite based or other alternative technologies).
