Slow broadband


My wifi seems to be super slow, sometimes it won't even refresh my emails or load a fairly simple webpage. But the speed is really up and down, so sometimes is ok. This has been going on for quite a few weeks. I just tried to call plusnet and was told it'd be a 45 min wait to speak to someone, so thought I'd try on here! I've done a speedtest and this is what came back:


Ping - 110 ms Download - 17.13 Mb/s Upload  - 0.86 Mb/s


To be honest I don't know what any of that means though! Can anyone help? I work at home a few days a week so this is affecting my business! Thanks Smiley

Try changing channel in your router; your wifi channel may be same as a neighbours.
A free prog such as inSSIDer will show what channels are busy in your vicinity.
If your router isn't a PN one you could try changing the DNS settings to Google's;
